It's A...

Well! The news I've been waiting for since we found out we were expecting. The news that makes baby shopping more justified now and, really, more fun!

IT'S A GIRL!

I know I'm partial and the mom, but I think she's so cute already ;) And I love her little foot!

I'm certain Thanksgiving week had a helping hand to my weight gain.  I gobbled until I wobbled, literally, all week, and I'm still gobbling all the leftovers!

Our week started with brunch, with The Anderson's - where I got to kiss and play with Alex. I love visiting with them, now that I'm pregnant, my friend Amanda is giving me some good advice. I've learned to take advice from some people and avoid advice from others, but she seems to give me a lot of good tips lately, they're the kind that make me go "Oh, I would have never thought of that- makes sense" I like the logical advice these days, and Im staying away from those lists online that tell you what you should get, whats best, whats trending....they're made mostly by people who have $1000 to spend on crib bedding. Pfft!

He is one CUTE baby, right?! ❤️ I think he liked me....Wes, not so much, but we think he was working on a number 2 at this point haha

Turkey week is always fun- first of all, a short work week! Anticipation for Black Friday sales and seeing our family and friends! My work had their annual pot luck lunch, where we eat all day, and try to stay focused at our desks.
Then we had an amazing Friendsgiving in which we hosted, but will probably be the last party we host in a long time now since I won't have the energy and the Baby will then be taking over the house. I'm so mad I didn't get pics of all the beautiful people- something about stuffing my face, chatting and playing a game called Cards Against Humanity -which is so hilarious and wrong all at the same time- in other words, I was having a good time and spaced the photo ops.

But I love that the girls helped clean up this kitchen so nicely. After everyone left, I took my slippers off and oh mylanta! I had swollen feet like none other! Wes was great to rub my feet a little  He's getting this whole 'take care of your pregnant wife' thing down☺️

Then off to Wes' Family feast on Thanksgiving Day, it never disappoints! Juicy turkey breast, the fixings and a Costco pumpkin pie...always!
We went around and said what we were thankful for. I have so much to be thankful for this year- our pregnancy, our new home, good jobs, great friends and families, there isn't anything I can complain about- especially knowing that there are so many people out there less fortunate. Larissa mentioned she was thankful for our little Missionary out in Arizona, and because of all the great service he's doing out there- those blessings have been received on our end too.

After feasting, I was surprised with an early baby shower gift! Larissa gave me this...Meep!!!

She said all new moms should have a Petunia Picklebottom bag, and I love it!! It just got me even more excited for Charlotte to get here, oh yeah...we already have the name! Charlotte! Charlotte for a couple reasons- I love SATC, and she was my favorite out of all the girls and Wes really likes the children's book Charlotte's Web. We have a pretty certain name for the middle name..but it could change. We will likely call her Charlie, for short. Wes is really pushing for Chuckie (yes- after Chuckie Keaton -Wes was kind of hoping for a Charles)  I almost barfed at the thought of that nickname.  And we will probably still call her Blueberry, too. This poor kid is going to have an identity issue haha "Am I a fruit or a boy?"

We came home and I laid out all the ornaments, hooked them and everything. Getting ready to trim the tree the following day! Definitely the planner in me coming out haha

I went with a gold theme, obvi.

Obviously.  Sometimes I try to get away with the shortened version , like the shortened word for jealous, jealy , and then I think "What am I doing? Use big, full words like a 30 something should"

Anyway, the tree was so fun.  I haven't trimmed a tree since I moved back up here from St George 5 years ago. It was nice to get one up in our new home. The living room floor looked like a glitter bomb went off after it was all said and done, took me two swipes with the wood floor moppy thing to get most of it up.

So I have an annoyingly abundant picture collection below of my tree, so you can really stop here if you want, haha.
I went with three 2" ribbons to create a look that was different in texture but also fill up a lot of space. I love the big round ornaments for filler as well.
I loved these little butterflies and giant snowflakes
I tried to put a little bit everything in and on the tree, bows, balls, sticks, ornaments...yeah it might have been a little over kill. Oh by the way..I got my tree at KMART of all places for only $90...unheard of! A decent 7ft Prelit Tree under $100?

I can't forget mentioning these glittery wings that I love, love!

Wes really tried to help, but I had a vision in mind with this tree, so he just stopped helping and ordered us pizza hehe...my new favorite right now is ham, pineapple and tomatoes!

Then we enjoyed the tree all lit up...the Christmas spirit is now upon us!

I don't know when my next post will be now..December is packed with Holiday parties and dinners, I have a  baby shower Im planning in January too for my BFF! Busy Busy Busy! Until the next Miller post, Please enjoy your Christmas season safely and full of love and laughter!

On a side note...

As I was working on the blog, a  nice lady brought us these, a Welcome to the Neighborhood treat! A lady after my own heart..Swiss Almond Bars, homemade and still warm!

And another side note..

People tell me ' I secretly read your blog' or " I read your blog, don't think im a creeper"

Haha, you guys!  I post to share willingly and I love that you care enough, or if you really don't care- pass some of your down time, to read my silliness. Thank you very much!

Location, Location, Location!

Finally! A new permanent place to call home!

Signing day- on our way to the title company, I was starved. I said to Wes "I hope they have cookies for us". He thought I was talking out my ass but they really did have cookies waiting for us! Wes kept one of their pens as a memento. Such an exciting day for The Millers! Thanks everyone for the congratulations!

I was a little disappointed when we got keys and walked into our new home- the previous owners left it really icky :(. I spent That Sunday just cleaning the kitchen.  The rest of the week I was wiping baseboards, cabinets, floors and blinds.  However, they did leave us a nice note and congrats, and Mormon wine

This was our old place the morning we moved
With the help of some SUPER AMAZING friends. We got loaded and unloaded in two hours!

New furniture came!

Don't mind our mess here, I took this the night I got this stupid cold

My favorite part of our place is the kitchen!! Storage galore and I can't wait to get some baking done!

And a pantry!!! I almost peed out of excitement. ( or I may have sneezed hard and some pee came out- just pregnancy)

A perfect spot for my bakers rack...

And my early Christmas gift has a nice home too

Once we get the bedrooms done, mainly the nursery- I will post pics.

I got so busy with moving and packing  that I forgot to take belly pics or notice any of my pregnancy quirks. This is it. My energy is good and I feel good most days. Definitely cant hide it now.

I started getting sick on Sunday. Which , luckily,  my mom made me some yummy Asian chicken noodle soup and fried bananas! The ultimate in Asian comfort food!
Then I  loaded up on Halls Defense drops and lots of water, and meds ( after I saw that it was okay). I was nervous about getting sick and how it'd affect Blueberry, but my dr's office said it would be okay. everyone is telling me I probably got sick more so from the stress of moving ( I really pushed myself cause I wanted it all done) packing and cleaning plus being around people who were sick. It was probably a way of my body making me finally rest.

I did get some good quality resting time in

With Ree and friends of course!

Maddy moved into our old place after we moved out and she is getting married this Friday! Such a big week for all of us!

My next post will be the gender reveal- I'm totally betting its a girl, we will see!! 164 days til Blueberry arrives!

The Ung Family Comes to America

My next installment of The Ung Family coming to America is in the works.

My mom was pregnant with me and brother was only 10!  I thought I would share this Refugee log with you to see their pass into America! When I first saw this, i was so happy to see the name of my grandparents. I never had any growing up and I got a nice sense of completeness after seeing it. I was also happy to see my Mom remembered her parents names, she was an orphan most of her childhood up until her teens, when she reunited with her father, and he had passed away soon after.

My mom and Dad didn't have the opportunity to have a good education. When their kids had it, they pushed us hard, it was everything to them. My friends from Junior High and High School can attest how strict my parents were and my crazy curfews! My Parents just didn't understand all the extra curricular activities. But maybe now, you all can understand why :)

More to come soon! Thanks for reading!

Mission: Baby Miller: Welcome 2nd Trimester!

I remember when I was only 6 weeks, and I felt like this 14th week was SO far away...but the weeks flew by and here I am- all 2nd trimest-ery.

A quick snapshot of weeks 12 and 13

So far, the evening sickness has died down somewhat. I feel like my old self again...which almost scares me cause I think "is something wrong with the baby?" I also have been getting frequent cold sores on my lips. My Dr finally prescribed me some topical medication...expensive medication! $75 after insurance paid $226! Good thing it doesn't expire for a couple years!

I can't believe how my belly has changed..and my hips. Seriously, I feel my hips have gotten 10 inches wider. I go to sit down in some chairs and I'm like Whoa! I never used to feel this way in a chair! Some days I feel like I am bigger than I should be in the belly, but I hear it a lot, that everyone is different. Okay..I feel very different then.

This year, Wes and I didn't do Halloween like the couple years before. I had a fun 80's themed party mid- October and that was as dressed up as I was going to get this year

I also had a great GNO with some of the funniest ladies around! We went to Wendover to see the Men of Playgirl, the show was okay, but the friends made it pretty entertaining! Also my first time on the Fun Bus, which wasn't so fun to me. I hate that feeling of not having control. My time was dictacted by a 50 passenger vehicle that had little Mexico in the back and someone with turrets in the front, then a big booty bus host who tried to be comedian of the year.

October was also a fun month for Wes and Maddy. Wes got to go to a World Series game in St. Louis. even though they lost, he was so happy for the experience! Who knows when he'll be able to go again!

and Maddy, his little sister is getting married soon! They asked me to take some engagement pics and they are just the sweetest couple!

I know I always rave about my Mother in Laws amazing culinary skills, but it passed down to her daughters and now I  think her grand kids...I got to tend Mr. LewBird and he takes a liking to Giada and Rachael Ray

I couldn't believe how self entertaining this child was. I want my baby to be this way, cause it will be a while, if ever, it will have a sibling.

I did some reading up on the benefits of massages during pregnancy. At first, I was afraid that I would harm the growing fetus. I also live above some new parents whose baby cries all the time. I'm not sure if its colicky or if its just a crier..I've never heard anything like it. We get awaken sometimes by its crying. I also wondered if the mother had a stressful pregnancy and that stress got passed to the baby?  I just want a calm and stress free pregnancy so my baby will come out happier and healthy and calm as well. I felt like massages would be the answer for me.

I finally found a massage therapist who did pregnancy massages. I felt like I hit the jackpot! The lady is the Prenatal Massage Director at Sanctuary AND a Midwife! So full of knowledge and so nurturing. I couldn't pass up this opportunity, so I went ahead and purchased a 6 massage package and added 2 more sessions. I am set through my pregnancy! and I get this treatment everytime...
personalized locker and a fluffy robe

my first few sessions up until 20 weeks, I get to lay face down in this bad boy of a cushion

It's this elevated foam pad with a deep well for my belly and two dents on top for my boobs. It was awkward at first, but then I just sunk into it and I was really comfortable. And I opted for a tangerine essential oil, thats what those drops are...my boobs aren't leaking yet!

The sad part about the Spa going forward, no steam room :( that was my favorite part! I'd always go early to sit in it and then sit in it after my massages for like 15 minutes. However...I do get a marvelous foot soak before every session now. uhm..oookaayy!

Hopefully this trimester is as great as everyone says it is! We find out the gender next weekend at 15 weeks at Fetal Foto! I'm so anxious! I took one of the chinese gender tests and it totally says girl! Boy or Girl, we will be happy no matter what

What a blessing it is to be this far along in our pregnancy and to live the life we have. We have been very fortunate and are grateful every single day. We have so many great supporters around us that wish for our well being all the time. I can't thank you all enough❤️ It means so much to us!

I will keep the posts coming! And, I won't lie, I can't wait to make a blog book about our journey after it's all said and done, hehe.
