Mission: Baby Miller : We're Finally Pregnant!

Finally, we can announce to the world we are expecting!

Wes can tell you the approximate date we conceived. It's really a funny story..I will try my best to sound like him.

It was mid August, a Sunday  and Wes just got home from his weekly round of golf. Wait, let me state that during the month of July and August, I was a stress case...taking on 3 weddings out of the blue. Sexy time , or 'running errands' as i sometimes called it, was the last thing on my mind. Poor Wes.

But on this Sunday in August, he made me. And I was like..'Alright' pouting the whole way.  Not to bother you with all the details but at one point Wes asked "are you ovulating?" okay- is it odd that he knows when I am ovulating? No, not really..when you have been trying and have counted your days as long as we have..you know, and your spouse knows. But I lost track of the days in the month cause I was just so busy and frantic with all this wedding stuff. So my answer was " I guess so, we better hope it catches!"
If you look, I wrote down the time of morning I took these. I think it's funny I tested at 6:30, went back to bed, then tested again at 7:51. Just making sure!

Besides the obvious pee sticks (4 to be exact- all different brands too- I am such a weirdo!) , how did we know we were pregnant? I was late..like a lot late. I'm never late. I put off the pee sticks as long as I could cause I was afraid of being disappointed and heartbroken, feelings I was all to use to. Wes would keep saying "you're pregnant" and I would almost get mad at him, I didn't want him to jinx it.

The surprising part of all this, on top of our one timer bedroom activity, is that we weren't on any hormones!  So it was nice to have it just happen. That's always how the stories go though right? It will happen the moment you aren't thinking about it. My doctor had another explanation for it too, but I can't remember, something about hormones filling in the gaps.

Happy and Excited and Relieved. That is how I felt because I already had a plan for September: 3 more months of Femara, if that didn't work, 3 rounds of IUI. Luckily, we don't have to go through any of that :)

We called our parents immediately. We recorded them on the speaker phone with each other's iTalk. My mom was the funniest, I think.   Then we trickled out the news to a few other people. And now, we can tell the world!

We told our friends at the Homecoming game in Logan. It was a fun day. I went to bed early cause I was tired and pregnant this time, not cause I was puking up my alcohol.

Just bloated in all sorts of ways..nothing too amazing to show :( also im not sure if 8 weeks is really two months in pregnancy terms..i think im really technically only 6 weeks here.

Still just Bloats McGotes..like, bloatiness I've  never experienced before.

Finally a little tiny bump! and still bloated

My yummy crisp meat burrtio...Im afraid this might last through my whole pregnancy, like hating the bacon thing. There were some girls who swore the chicken ones were the tastiest things ever, and they weren't. I didn't like them.
I had Wes snap this for me before he left for Orlando.

My friend Cassie got me this amazing 'Pregnancy Survival' Basket. It included all sorts of yummy treats, Mints and sleeping aids for my nausea, Tums for later on, bubble bath and some unmentionables, but i've heard i will use them at some point!

I went out and got us some books as soon as we found out

My morning cereal obsession. I didn't even eat cereal before i was pregnant, then out of no where, I eat it all the time!

I had an enormous craving for donuts one morning and my awesome boss brought some in for all of us! It was the best donut experience of my life. I had 4.

Time for flats.

They are delicious and helped me some mornings with my morning sickness

I went a little crazy at Old Navy and bought some clearance maternity clothes. ZuLily, Motherhood Maternity and A Pea in a Pod have also received many visits.

I can't wait to wear this! Wes is going to be so stoked!

at 6 weeks, they could already see a heart beat. It was just a little flicker. So amazing.

at 9 weeks, it started to take on a baby form. we had to get this ultrasound done at the hospital because my doctor couldn't see anything or hear anything in his office. Super scary! He wanted to make sure it wasn't a tubal pregnancy. Good thing all was well. I cried, of course, relieved and happy that I could continue to carry this little thingy.

We are under contract to buy a home, such an exciting time to be pregnant and moving into our first purchased home as a family.

Looking back at our journey- although my months seemed emotional, and sometimes hopeless- I wouldn't change anything. Wes and I got to experience many things and learn alot about each others strengths. Among all this, he even got a promotion! And I was able to really sink my teeth into the wedding planning and got 3 done this year- such an experience!

I saw a saying that read "Sometimes Good things Fall Apart so that Better things can fall Together" it really was the case for us.  We had a lot of things in place that just weren't coming together as we wanted them, and seemed like things were really falling apart, then one day- it all came together-plus more!

I am beyond happy and elated. Feeling very, very, very blessed. God has answered so many of our prayers.
